If you wish to work as a teacher in post 16 education such as adult learning, further and higher education. Then you will need a formal teaching qualification.
Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training meets the government requirements for teachers, tutors, and trainers in the Associate Teacher role as the suitable qualification.
The Associate Teacher role is defined as having less teaching responsibilities than the full teaching role. However, the quality of teaching is expected to be of an equally high standard.
Completing the Level 4 Certificate is a good way to progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training which will gives you the option to apply for Qualified Teacher Learning Skills Status (QTLS).
